William Mills                                       1788-1854
William was born on 9 May 1788, the 2nd son of John Mills, Surgeon, and Margaret Hamlet, at London, Middlesex.
He was admitted at age 20 to St. John's College, Cambridge, July 2, 1808. Switched to Pembroke College, June 29, 1810. Returned to St John's, Oct. 24, 1812; He received his B.A. in 1815; his M.A. in 1819; his Doctor of Divinity in 1836.
He was Assistant Master at Harrow School, 1815-34. He was ordained a priest June 13, 1824. He was Head Master of Exeter Grammar School in 1834, plus Rector of St Paul's, Exeter in 1851, until his death in February 1854.

  On the 11th inst., in the 65th year of his age, the Rev. William Mills, D.D., rector of St. Paul's, Exeter, late head-master of the Free Exeter Grammer School, and for 20 years one of the under-masters of Harrow.
